eBay Goodies – July edition

Don’t you just hate when you put someting on your eBay watch list, forget about it, and only remember it when it’s gone? (or is it just me?).

Either way, I think it’s time for another eBay favorites. This time it’s a mix of everything but all things I’d actually like to own and have on my to-buy list. Some of them are, unfortunately, way more than the 80 kr so if you do get some of this, be sure to remember that PostDanmark likes to take your money! (Seriously, 160 kr just for “handling”… come on).

Owl chair / Coca Cola Lip Smackers / Mustache Pillow
Avon Palette / Tardis Sign / Batman Duct Tape

I love all of these for different reasons but I think if I had to buy a single item right now I would go with the chair or the pillow. The chair is really good handy work and the pillow, well, look at it. It would fit SO well into my son’s bedroom!

Any of these look awesome to you?

ERROR – Post not found ;)

Not true, there just isn’t one.

We’re taking some time off this evening for a little “kæreste-hygge”, or the closes things in English which would be “trying to take care of your relationship in between doing house chores and taking care of a very grumpy little kid” (he’s not dealing well with the heat).

So yeah, we made pulled pork from scratch and the burgers were AMAZING, and now we’re going to watch Psych and eat candy, and actually try to have human conversation instead of falling asleep straight away 😀

Hope you’re enjoying your evenings, too!

Snowmen in July

I have quite a few posts almost-ready but I’m just too lazy to upload the pictures my camera doesn’t work right now, so they’ll have to wait.

Yesterday I made chocolate mousse (and intended to post you the recipe but that’s one of the waiting posts) and today I made something completely un-summery. A few days back I found a really cheap pack of what we call “stegeben” in Danish. And I have no idea what the word is in English, but these days I forget my own name at times, so don’t judge. They were really delicious but also very heavy for the stomach, so instead of doing something productive, I’ve decided to sit on my ass and not do something productive 😀

Tomorrow we’re going to the Ørbæk marked and I’m pretty excited, but I would have been more excited if it wasn’t a 1 1/2 hour trip with changing trains and busses with a overheated 1 y.o. and his stroller. But it’s the first time I’ll actually go there, and given that I’ve lived here for 3 years now I think it’s about time, too.

I need to give you an update of the Shop My Stash challenge as well – I only bought two items that I already had but I’ve used one of them once and the other is untouched, so it’s not that horrible… right? I’ve actually been really good at using the items from the list and I’ve definitely (re)discovered some some new items that I really like but didn’t use before, so I’m choosing to ignore the fact that I bought something I shouldn’t have. I’m making a list of what I own and what I need. That way I can always buy things from my need-list instead, but right now I think I’ll focus a little bit on more Wreck This Journal kind of books.

And today’s project? Well, I decide to do this page in the Wreck My Journal challenge.

Wreck This Journal The Life Project

So creative, I know

I’m actually doing pretty well with my journal, I’ve done over half of it already. Some things are really nice and creative, others are made during the 5 minutes I get to myself at times. This page is currently in the freezer, hoping for me not to forget it for 3 years so it can go back to it’s friends in a day or two.

What have you been up to today? Are you also considering moving permanently to the freezer? 😀

Makeup Revolution Haul #2 – The lip products

As promised, the second part of the second haul – the lip products. I already did a post about the eye products here.

Makeup Revolutio HaulThis is what I bought

Like I said last time, I bought five lip lacquers and three lipsticks. I tend to focus on the eyes so I usually just wear gloss but it’s always good to try something new, right?

The lip lacquers are from their Velvet Matte line and I couldn’t decide so I just got five out of the seven they have.

Salvation Velvet Matte Lip LacquerFrom the left: Keep Crying For You, Keep Lying For You, What I Believe, You Took My Love, and Keep Trying For You.

Except for the fact that I really don’t like their names (they just sound so needy) I like the actual product. The colors are really bright and in no way a gloss and they are very matte so if you like a shine to your lips, like yours truly, I’d suggest you invest in a see-through gloss to put on top.

All of them are wearable although some of them are definitely more subtle than others. The last two on the first picture are really meant for focus on your lips, whereas the rest can do with a bit stronger eye makeup.

And of course, a few swatches so that you can see what they look like on really pale skin 😉

I have to say, though, if you have chapped lips – like me – you might want to fix that first because it shows a little too much when you’re wearing these. And either way, remember to take care of your lips ’cause these matte products are really drying.

Makeup Revolution LipsticksFrom the left: 100% Vamp, The One and You Took My Love

The only lipstick I own besides these is a cheap-o purple lipstick I bought 348 years ago. Because I was goth and purple was cool (Don’t you love those embarrassing days where you didn’t know how to do your makeup so you looked like an idiot? Yeah, me neither).

But I actually really do love purple and especially purple lipstick, so while it may seem very dark to a lot of people, I know it’ll soon become one of my absolute favorites.

The nude lipstick is actually… too nude for my lips! Usually when I buy things like foundation I have to choose the lightest colors they have because apparently I was born half vampire. But my lips often look like they have color on them, even when they don’t, so this one actually makes them look pretty pale. Not in a bad way, though. The problem with naturally pink lips is that it’s sometimes hard to rock a full-blown eye look because it looks like you’re wearing a ton of gloss. So I’m very happy I bought this, even though it’s definitely only going to be used to give my eye makeup a chance 😉

You Took My Love is gorgeous. Flat-out gorgeous! If you could only buy one of the lipsticks they have, this would be it. As 1 pound per lipstick you can pretty much stock up on the entire line, though 😉

The swatches

All three are very creamy and glide on flawlessly. I would, however, recommend a lip pencil since they do rub out a little too fast if you don’t let them dry properly but for the price I’m not bothered.. What I do is apply a layer, “kiss” a piece of paper, and apply another layer. It seems to stick better that way.

PS – after I took the picture of the swatches I went to remove them. I spent 3 cotton swabs and a lot of product remover and rubbing and I still couldn’t get all of it off.

What do you think? Are you going to try any of these? (:

Goodiebox June 2014 – Festival Chick!

I already got my Goodiebox, I already got my Goodiebox… *dancing around*

After previous month’s extreme fuck-up in delivery (yes, I swear, so shoot me) I really wasn’t expecting next-day delivery this time so I was pleasantly surprised when my boyfriend found the box hanging in a bag on the door handle this morning!

This box is meant for going to a festival, traveling or something similar because it’s focus is on travel-sized items and practical items. Even if you’re not going to a festival or going traveling this year, like me, they’re still completely usable items.

For a start, I’m going to list the items and review the few I’ve already tried out (Patience? Me? NOPE) but I’m doing it under the “read more” since I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who’s still waiting for their box.

My camera is still refusing to focus properly so – sadly – this was the best picture out of the very large bunch of pictures. I even moved the box around the house, hoping to find better lighting, but no such luck.

INK by Dennis Knudsen Eye Shadow Primer – fullsize, 130 kr (120 kr via link, though)

Lee Stafford Original Dry Shampoo – fullsize 50 ml, 39 kr/150 ml, 99 kr

So Susan Concealer Quad – fullsize, 180 kr

Nivea Raspberry Rose Lip Butter – fullsize, 29,95 kr

Mesauda Milano Shine Flex Graffiti Top Coat – fullsize, 49 kr

JorgObé Refreshing Scrub Mask – fullsize, 198 kr

Depend Nail Polish Remover Pads – fullsize, 25 kr

I think there will be a lot of divided opinions on this box. Some people will love it and some will find it boring. Personally, I was a little, “meh” when I first opened it. Last time I was pretty much over the moon because I loved all the things (minus the horrible Medina perfume sample) so I didn’t get the best first impression.

I think it’s mainly because there’s a lot of small sized items this time so the box looked a little empty compared to May’s box. After going through it, though, I had to re-evaluate. Because the items are actually pretty neat.

I’ve already tried the INK by Dennis Knudsen eyeshadow primer and it’s really good. I went with a purple/pink look today, using the Dia De Los Muertos Salvation Palette, and even after rubbing my eye like a crazy person and putting a wet piece of toilet paper on it (oh, the joys of allergies!) the eyeshadow is still there! I was really happily surprised! The product descriptions says, “The best part is that the shape makes it easy to use without applicators or using your fingers” – I don’t quite agree since I had to use my fingers to make it even. But maybe I just have weird eyelids, who knows?

I also quickly tried the Nivea lip balm and OH MY GOD, does it smell amazing! I’ve always been a fan of Nivea even though it’s not exactly high-end because they really do make quality products.

The Lee Stafford dry shampoo is also more than welcome. I love dry shampoo because as a mother and owner of delicate, quickly greasy hair, dry shampoos are a God-send. This one isn’t really my favorite so far, but I will wait with a review until I actually get to try it our more than once 😉

The So Susan concealer quad is hopefully better than my current – a corrective concealer from ELF, which may just be the worst product I have tried in my entire life – so I’m looking forward to trying it out. We got another So Susan product in one of the other boxes, a nail polish, and I just love their packaging!

Which leads us to my least favorite thing from this box – the nail products. Don’t get me wrong, I think they look very useful and exciting – if you don’t bite your nails like I do. Since I’ve done it from the age of 8 and I have OCD which makes it virtually impossible for me to stop, all I can do with the crazy amount of nail polish we get in these boxes, are use them for my feet. And my feet aren’t exactly that wonderful that I want to show them off all year round 😉 I have to admit that despite my nail biting problem, I’ve always been intrigued by the crackle effect so this way I get to try it out.

So the Mesauda Milano nail polish and the Depend nail polish remover pads will definitely be used but probably not reviewed anytime soon since I rarely do my toenails. But for people who actually have nails, I’m sure these products will be great.

The last thing is a sample of the JorgObé srub mask and while I very much liked the previous JorgOrbé samples, it’s very difficult to get enough out of it to actually review it properly.

All in all, a very good box that I’m definitely happy with. If you’re interested in getting your own Goodieboxes, you can do so here (:

Have you recieved your Goodiebox yet? What do you think about the products?
