Shop My Stash review – Manhattan Cover Stick Concealer

Manhattan Clearface Cover Stick 76

This is what the old packaging looks like

Swatch of the product – on the left, it’s slightly blended, on the right it’s just put on.

A 100 years ago I did a “Shop My Stash” project but kind of failed – maybe? I combined it with a no-buy but that didn’t work out all that well, although I haven’t actually bought many things – only a very few, and only things I needed/didn’t already have.

But even though I didn’t get around to using up all the products from the list, I’ve actually used some of them quite a lot. This cover stick is something I use every day now. So, let’s get to it.

The packaging: Like the powder, the cover stick has had an upgrade as well. The new packaging looks a little fresher and the colors are different, but the product is pretty much the same. The old packaging, which I have, is admittedly a little dull but nothing you think about while using the products, since most of us apply cover-products in the morning, at home.

The smell: It doesn’t really have much of a smell, definitely not something you notice anyways.

The texture: It’s got a creamy texture though a little “dry” which I think it’s great if you have oily skin. I often have problems with applying too moisturizing products when my skin is oily so it’s definitely a big plus for me. Even though it’s creamy it dries up/sets quickly which means you don’t have to wait forever to continue with your routine.

The price: The new cover looks a bit better but the product is essentially the same, so if you want to save a good chunk of money, I’d recommend buying from FragranceDirect for 0.99 punds – they only have Sand (76) left, though. If you want the new packaging, it can be found at Matas for 69,95 kr.

Does it work? It works, definitely. Even though I use Vanilla (70) for the powder, I have the Sand (76) cover stick because I have very bad redness under my eyes due to anemia. The coverage is good, although I think it would be much better for someone with less redness under the eyes. I get semi-coverage but the powder helps it look much better. I use this product every day, so I definitely like it.

Rating: 4/5 stars. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that the coverage simply isn’t 100% when you have the problems I have. If I had “normal” bags under my eyes this would definitely do wonders.

Have you tried this? What do you think?

BelláPierre Shimmer Powder – my new love!

I’m a big fan of eyeliner and mascara because I love to put focus on my eyes, but I rarely wear eye-shadows. As you know, recently I bought quite a few palettes to try something new and it’s all because if this little guy!

Since starting my Goodiebox subscription, I’ve received two eye-shadows. One from Gosh which I liked but rarely every use because it’s black, and one from BelláPierre a few days ago. It came in the color “Earth” which is a brownish-pinkish color. Definitely not for me, I thought.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere are a lot of beautiful colors to choose from

Well, I was wrong! I simply love this damn little thing! It’s the BelláPierre Shimmer Shadow and it has the most gorgeous color which is subtle enough for everyday use but with a touch of shimmer to make it pop. I’m not a big fan of shimmer and glitter in make-up since it often ends up looking tacky, but this really works. It stays where you put it and it stays on for hours – yay!

The absolutely only downside is the price. It costs 119,- for a single pot but you do get far with just a little amount of product, so it’s not that bad.

I did a swatch for you guys since it’s such a gorgeous color:

I’ve actually been using this a few times a week. It blends well and stays on for quite a long time. Even when it starts fading, it doesn’t smudge all over your face or sit in your creases, which is just amazing.

If you have the money to splurge, definitely get yourself one of this little guys! 😀

1/3 off price from French Pharmacy

I’m getting ready to make a post about the new Goodiebox but a certain website won’t really work with me right now. So until it’s fixed, I can give you a little hint – Escentual has 1/3 off their French Pharmacy lines for the rest of the month!

EucerinThe PURIFYER series

Usually I don’t buy those expensive brands since I don’t have a money tree nor any desire to pay large amounts for products that don’t work (just call me a pessimist) but I do know that Eucerin works wonders for my skin, and Eucerin just happens to be one of those 1/3 off lines! I was recommended this brand by a dermatologist back when I looked like a pizza in my young days, and it’s wonderful. I use the PURYFIER line as I know it works for me, but I know they have a few other lines as well, like the CLEAN line. It’s great for sensitive skin and doesn’t have any weird smell, so it’s just a win-win all around.

The only downside is the price and the fact that even though Denmark JUST got it, you still can’t get all their products – including my favorites. So I’ve just ordered two from Escentual for 156 kr (XX GBP) including shipping… That’s a little more than what one standard Eucerin product costs in Denmark – excluding shipping!

I bought the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Cleaneser as well as the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Scrub. I would also very much like to recommend Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Toner – I LOVE this product more than anything and the only reason I didn’t buy it this time is that I have some on stock and not enough room for more items right now (I say while browsing web shops abundance)

Do you know Eucerin? Have you tried it?

7 of my favorite products

I have a lot of products to review, some amazing, some horrible and some in between, but for now I’ll give you a list of my top 7 favorite products I use on a daily basis, in no specific order.

1.  Revlon Colorstay Under Eye Concealer
It’s the only undereye concealer that actually conceals the extreme redness I have (I seriously look dead most of the time and it’s 100 times worse when I’m sick) so I’m very happy with this

2. The Body Shop Coconut Lip Balm – 10 ml, 60 kr
While it’s a little expensive for only 10 ml, they do last for a very long time even with two people using it multiple times a day, and as a bonus it smells so amazing like coconut!

BodyShop_4

3. Nivea Soft Liner
I got this from my mother, bought in Kvickly of all places, and to my big surprise it’s one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried (and trust me, I’ve tried a lot) Definitely recommendable!

4. Id Hair Most Wanted Duo Shot Multi-Leave-In – 250 ml, 125 kr (sale 29 kr)
This is one on my very, very favorite hair products because it leaves the hair super soft, healthy looking and untangles everything – which means a lot if your hair is like mine and you wake up with a nest every morning

5. Osmo Essence Berber Oil – 100 ml, 149 kr
Another one of my very favorite hair products which smells like candy; it also helps untangle and is really amazing on your hair tips

6. Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream – 100 ml, 99 kr (sale 79 kr)
I got this in a Goodiebox and I can promise you I’ll buy it again! It smells like caramel, has the best consistency and actually works the hair!

Milkshake

7. Possibility Blueberry Pancakes 3 in 1 Formulation – 525 ml, 2 GBP
This is the cheapest of the products and you get a whole lot of it as well – it smells amazing like blueberry pancakes and the bottle has a recipe of how to make them, even. Definitely worth a try, the smell is just one of those that makes you happy

Have you ever tried these products or would you? What are your favorites?

Tiger – February edition

Personally I love Tiger. I think it’s a great store with a lot of (sometimes) great stuff and most of it is relatively cheap. For those of you who don’t know, Tiger is the Danish version of a dollar store, except it went from the things costing around 10 kr, to 20 kr, 50 kr and 100 kr. Not something I’m a big fan of ’cause now you can get OH so excited about something! Only to find out it’s not 10 kr but 100 kr…

Either way, the have some great stuff and every month they have new things in. I love checking out their website at the start of a new month because I almost always find something I’d like to get.

Here are my February favorites:

Tiger

Popcorn box, 20 kr / Bird things, 10-20 kr / Deco tape, 20 kr / Paint, 10 kr

I love the bird set, I’m a sucker for things with “drawings” on them because not everything has to be so perfect and neat. And as always, creative souls can find tons of good stuff in Tiger.

The only downside is that they don’t have a web shop but at least you can see what they’re offering before you decide whether to go pay them a visit or not.

Do you like Tiger? What’s your favorite of their things?
