“How’s the Shop Your Stash challenge going?”, you’re maybe asking yourself? Well, it’s going great! I’m actually using the things from my list and I haven’t yet bought anything makeup-y, so go me! 😀 I’m running low on foundation, though, so that I’ll have to buy way before September.
Anyhow, I’m going to review the products from my list as I get through them, and this time it’s all about the Yin Yang Moisturiser.
Excuse the picture, I’ve had a sick son lately (seriously, he’s sick 24/7 after starting daycare… give us a break, life!) so I really haven’t had much time to take pictures. Besides, I got this in my May Goodiebox so I only have a sample size anyways.
So, what’s the verdict?
Packaging: Bearing in mind that I got a sample size and not fullsize, I still really like the packaging. The fullsize seems to have a pump where mine was just a standard squeeze-out thingy (professional terms, I know) but I’m sure it works both ways. It’s white with a funky yin-yang sign in pretty colors and definitely something I don’t mind having on my shelves.
Smell: The smell is a little weird for me. I like it when you first apply it because it smells like oranges, but after 5 seconds you get that “after-smell” of something I don’t really like (I’m going to assume it’s the witch hazel) and it’s just not my thing. Luckily, the smell goes away completely in a matter of minutes so it’s definitely not something that ruins too much.
Consistency: The consistency is really great. I hate thick creams and lotions, but the alternative is often a way too runny products. This one has found the golden middle road which means you can squeeze out a normal, small amount but at the same time it’s not so thick that it takes an eternity to dry.
Price: You get 50 ml for 13.95 pounds, which is approximately 130 kr. It’s a little steep for such a small amount of product, but to be fair, it a little amount of product goes a long way. To compare – my sample size is 10 ml and I’ve been using it for 2 months now, min. 4 times a week, often more, and I’m still not through it.
Rating: Out of 5 stars
Which makes for a total of 4/5 stars.
Does it work? That’s the main thing, isn’t it? Does it do it’s job? And the short answer is yes. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and my skin gets super soft as soon as a apply it. What’s even better is that my skin has overall improved, looking way healthier and feeling much softer, and in my opinion it’s definitely worth the money.
