Shop My Stash!

I’ve bought so many products and so much makeup recently that I seriously have NO idea where to even put my latest purchase, not to mention I ordered some more (very last order, though!). So I think it’s time to do a round of Shop My Stash/Project Pan.

Rules are simple.

1# – No more buying things I already have until I use up what I already own.

2# – If I don’t feel like using it up and want a new one, I have to give the current item away.

3# – I can only buy something I don’t already have (i.e. I can buy a face scrub if I don’t own any but not a lotion since I own 347565 of them – even if I don’t have the exact same one as the one I used up)

4# – The Goodiebox is of course excluded from this 😉

This will go on from today until September 1st, so that I can really use up what I have. Of course, I can use my other products as well but I’m putting some focus on these. Some of these products are going to be pretty much impossible using up in the span of 2 1/2 month but I’m going to give it a try.

The list of things I’m trying to use up are as follows:

1# – Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser (I just got this in a Goodiebox and while I really love it, I hate tiny little things taking up place in my bathroom, so it needs to go)

2# – Eucerin DermoPurifyer Toner (This is actually one of my very favorite products – when I remember to use it! So I think it’s time to use it up since there’s less than 1/4 of the bottle left)

3# – The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub (I love the Body Shop but just like my Eucerin, I’m just so bad at remembering to use them! This body scrub is lovely, but XL sized, so I’ll count it as a win if I can at least get to the middle of the tub)

4# – The Body Shop Coconut Body butter (Same as the other Body Shop product 😉 )

5# – Manhattan Cover Stick Concealer Sand (I bought this since it was only like a pound, but since I have my Revlon Color Stay Under Eye Concealer I haven’t really been using it at all)

6# – ID Hair Most Wanted Duo Shot Multi-Leave-In (Another product that I really love but haven’t been using much lately because I keep finding new, similar things that I have to try. It needs more love)

7# – Sebastian Trilliance Shine Conditioner (I bought this ages ago and I don’t think I’ve actually even used it. I figured I’d wait until I’d used up my current conditioner but since that’s 1 liter of conditioner (which I’m finally getting to the bottom off) I forgot all about this one)

8# – Bourjois Elastic Mascara (I bought this along with another mascara but I just automatically grab for the other one. This won’t ever be my favorite mascara but I need to see if I can put it to some use)

9# – Manhattan 123 Clear Compact Powder Vanilla (This is a pretty decent product, actually. I just have so pale skin that it’s hard to find something that matches, so when I finally found something else that worked, I just stuck to that one)

10# – Maybelline MNY My Gloss (373) (This gloss is fine, it’s just that I like my other ones better – like so many other things – so I’ve only used it a few times)

I hope to use at least some of these up as I’m getting tired of having no space in the bathroom. Then I can always review them as I get through them and decide whether they’re worth repurchasing or not.

What do you think about the Shop My Stash concept? Are you up for a challenge? I’d love to get in touch with a few other bloggers so we could link to each other’s challenges and keep each other motivated (:

Makeup Revolution has arrived!

And man, do I love it! I spent AGES pulling those little plastic thingies off (you know, those they put on so you can’t use it and return it) and started to think I would die in the process but I finally made it. Also, my laptop broke down so while we’re fixing it, I have absolutely nothing useful on it – I’ve only installed my camera’s uploader program but I can’t edit the pictures at all. As a bonus, I was too excited to try it out to find a nice spot to take the pictures – so enjoy my amazing, un-editet, red-is-a-really-bad-background-color pictures! 😀

Seeing as there are a total of 69 colors, I’ve decided to just do a swatch of one palette for a start. If you’re interested in seeing swatches for some of the other things, just leave me a comment and I’ll get around to it as soon as I can.

I’ve chosen the Iconic 1 palette because I wanted to try it out straight away.

In this row I simply love nr. 2 and 4!

DSC_0924These are darker than the first ones but they all differ between mattes and shimmers

I’ve tried out no. 1 and 2 today. They’re the lightest shades but I didn’t have the time to play around with too much color today, so I chose something easy. I’m looking forward to trying out the gold one and the last two when I get more time.

I won’t review it yet since I want to test it out first, but so far I can easily say that the colors are very nicely pigmented and stay on for a good while even without primer, so if you’re looking to use the 25% off code they have this month, definitely go for it! You can’t get better for 4 pounds, I’m sure!

Have you tired Makeup Revolution yet?

Please don’t ship yet!

Not exactly what most of us hope for when placing an order, but this time I am. When I placed my order with Makeup Revolution their Iconic 3 palette was out of stock. Now, two days later, it’s back in stock!

I’ve written them an e-mail asking nicely if there’s aaaany way they could add it to the order – I’m not exactly rich so paying 6 pounds shipping for a 4 pound item isn’t a pleasing thought.

Cross your fingers I that can get it!

Makeup Revolution! (and a cupon code)

While browsing the internet I came across a new (to me, at least) webshop with makeup. Usually I shop at FragranceDirect since they’re affordable and have a lot to choose from. I also like ELF and MUA but this time I was looking for something else – and I found it!

revolutionNow they just need to get the Iconic 3 back in stock!

Makeup Revolution is webshop selling their own brand, much like ELF, and the prices are just wonderful. If there’s one thing I like as a student and mother, it’s affordable. Of course, I’ve been through some reviews and people seem very pleased with their products so I decided to order some.

I think their most popular products are their eyeshadow palettes and judging by swatches I’ve seen, rightly so. The line is called Redemption 12 and contains 10 different palettes. This time I bought eye-shadows abundance because I only have very few but would like to have some more. I got the Iconic 1, Iconic 2, Essential Shimmers, Essential Mattes and Romantic Smoked. I also got 8 of their Eye Dust colors which I’m excited to try out. Only tiny downside is that the Iconic 3 palette is new and thus sold out but with 5 new palettes I think I’m set for a while.

The palettes contain 12 different colors each at the price of 4 pounds and the Eye Dust jars cost 1 pound each. In total, I had to pay 26 pounds, or 245 kr, because I use a 25% off code (MUR25) which means I’m a very happy camper 😉

I’m very excited to receive my things and try them out!

Goodiebox May 2014 Edition!

I finally got my Goodiebox! A lot of us have had trouble with delivery this month, with boxes being delivered the wrong places or through the wrong carriers, but I think most people have gotten theirs by now, or will very soon. This month I saw a few of the things before I got my box but it didn’t make it less exciting!

This month’s theme is “rejseklar” or “travel-ready” in English. Even though we’re not going anywhere, I’m very pleased with these products.

DSC_0854Goodiebox May 2014

A lot of people have been complaining that they don’t really use the questionnaire on your profile for anything (the one where you fill out your skin tone, hair color, etc.) and I think they’re trying to change this. This month’s Goodiebox came in two versions – one for brunettes (and redheads, I suppose) and one for blondes.

My “brunette box” contains:

Nivea Powerfruit Fresh Shower Gel, 250 ml (Fullsize – 22,95 kr)

Pin Buin Wet Skin Transparent Sun Spray SPF15, 150 ml (Fullsize, 145 kr)

Yin Yang Natural Moisturizer, 10 ml (Fullsize 50 ml, 128 kr)

Medina “Jalousi” By Gosh Cosmetics, 1,2 ml (Fullsize 50 ml, 299 kr)

Bellápierre Shimmer Powder, 36 ml (Fullsize, 149 kr)

Teeez Beautiful Flat Stiff Brush (Fullsize, 142 kr)

Matas Sun Lotion Factor 15, 40 ml (Fullsize 200 ml, 79, 95 kr)

Blondes got an extra thing, a shampoo, but a cheaper sun spray product than brunettes, so I think it’s around the same amount in both boxes. Besides that, you could get a different perfume sample and a different shower gel, but I don’t think it was hair-color specific which ones you got.

This box has a value of 513 kr total (yes, I did the math for once) and I think that’s excellent since I paid 139 kr for it 😉

As for the products, I just got them so I haven’t tried all that much. But for a firsthand impression:

The Nivea Shower Gel is fine. It smells summer-y and good enough for me to use it although I probably won’t be buying it again since I much prefer the one I normally use. I think we’ve gotten so many shower-gels lately that I don’t think anyone needs to buy anymore for the rest of the year! I’ve given a few of them away simply because I know I’ll never get around to using them. So nice product but I hope it’s the last shower-gel for a loooong time.

The Matas Sun Lotion is needed – I am an asshat and forget to wear sun lotion so I think it’s perfect which a travel-sized package. It’s easy to put in your bag (or in my case, the diaper bag) and take it with you – either because you’re like me and forget until you’re already out the door, or if you have sensitive skin and need to touch up.

The Pin Buin Sun Spray is definitely also something I’m looking forward to trying out. I haven’t tried this brand before but I’ve heard many good things about it. Supposedly, it isn’t sticky when you spray it on, contains D-vitamins and you can use it right after getting out of the ocean or pool because it’s formula makes it so that the water doesn’t ruin it. Awesome!

The Yin Yang Moisturizer is also one of the good things in this box since I’m running out of my moisturizer, so another thing I’m looking forward to trying. This claims to be free off all the bad guys so I’m very excited about seeing if it’s actually true or not – the A-Derma products from the past boxes claim the same, yet my skin breaks out the second I touch the products.

Then there’s the Teeez Brush which is perfect seeing as I’m looking for new brushes but can’t decide which ones to get. We got a Teeez product in the February Goodiebox, the Teeez Trend Cosmetics Be Blushious, and I quite like the brand.

The Bellápierre Shimmer Powder definitely seems good quality, I got the color Earth; a brownish-pinkish color that I haven’t worked with before and don’t know if it’ll work for me. But I’m excited to try it since it’s something different from what I usually use.

Lastly, the Medina perfume sample… I hate it. It’s the only thing in the box that I really can’t stand. I sprayed once on the lid of the box and now the entire room smells horrid. A lot of people will probably be pleased with it but I’m not one of them.

That was the May Goodiebox. If you’re interested in getting one yourself, you can do so here (: It’s 139,- per month and every box is full of surprises worth much more!
