How to cheaply update your furniture
I love being creative and used to do something fun every day. But since I had a baby and got sick, it obviously hasn’t been my first priority. Now that we’re moving, however, I have so many amazing projects to do that I can’t wait! If you’re interested in getting a few cheap and easy tips keep an eye on the blog in the near future.
My son got this for his baptism:
It’s a very nice, little table set but it’s also extremely boring. Doesn’t exactly scream “Kid’s room”, does it? Which is why my plan is to paint them black and put wallpaper on the table top and the chairs.
Today I ordered these three:
The green one with the owls is 70×30 cm and I’m going to use that to cover the table and the chairs. It’s going to be a very neat contrast to the black. I bought three pieces á 20 kr each.
The other ones are going to be used for when we remodel the Ikea Duktig play kitchen, which he’s getting for his birthday. Maybe some shelves in his room, to make it look much more fun. The blue one is also 70×30 cm for 20 kr while the one with the stars is 43×30 cm for 20 kr.
They can all be found at Papir og Tapet, a web shop I only just discovered today but already know I’m going to use quite a lot. They have everything from entire rolls of wallpaper to very small pieces (useful for scrap booking) to wall stickers and odds and ends.
The wallpapers are not just for kids, they have a very nice selection, so if you have an old piece of furniture or just something that’s getting boring to look at, I highly recommend taking a look.
What do you think? What kind of creative projects do you like to do?
