The Body Shop #1 – The first purchases of 2014

We might as well start the year off with a few material things 😉

I’ve promised myself I’d be nicer to myself and that includes buying things that make me happy. Even though it sounds like I’m all about the money, it’s really not that – it’s just that for the past year and a half I haven’t bought myself anything that hasn’t been necessary.

So, what did I buy? Well, most of it is ordered online and is still on it’s way, but I’ll be sure to review all of it as it arrives and I get to use it. For now, you’ll get an overview of my lovely, lovely purchases. Most of the things are from The Body Shop, which happens to be one of my few favorite stores/brands, so of course it was one of the first places I hit in the mall – and then online.

1) The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter, 200 ml

Body Shop Body Butter 1

I love coconut. I love everything with coconut. So of course my favorite Body Shop products are their coconut line! These products smell so delicious and the body butter is such a great consistency – it’s creamy and moisturizing, gets absorbed fast and doesn’t stick at all, which I personally hate when happens. I’ve used it every day since I bought it, wandering around smelling my hands like a weirdo because it smells SO nice!

Can be found here at TheBodyShop.dk for 165 kr and at TheBodyShop.co.uk for 13 GBP

2) The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub, 300 ml

BodyShop_2

This is the XL size of the product. Normally it’s 175 kr for 200 ml but I paid 125 kr for 300 ml, which normally costs 250 kr because of the sale. So I bought two, since they were half price. Did I mention how much I love the sale?

Anyway, I simply adore this product. It smells like coconut – obviously – but in a slightly different way than the body butter; my boyfriend says it reminds him of coconut ice cream and I have to agree with him. Such an awesome smell!

I tried it out yesterday and even though I’m very skeptical when it comes to most products promising this and that, I can actually say that this works. It left my skin nice and soft and much cleaner looking after just one use so I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of improvement there will be in the long run. I know a body scrub is mainly for taking of the dead layer of skin (delicious) but it’s almost 24 hours after I tried it and my face it still super hydrated and soft, which it normally never is. And I love that – unlike most body scrubs I’ve tired – you can actually feel there are enough grains to do the job.

It can be found here at TheBodyShop.dk for 125 kr and here at TheBodyShop.co.uk for 12,15 GBP (for 200 ml).

3) The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter, 10 ml

Are you starting to sense a pattern here? Care to venture a guess as to what my favorite line is?

I ordered this Lip Butter today since my chap-stick is a) 200 years old and near death, and 2) broken in half which makes it pretty difficult to use it without wanting to flush it down the toilet (did I mention I haven’t replaced anything necessary in the last year and a half?)
The price made me cringe a little since it’s only 10 ml but I decided to give it a chance.

For obvious reasons, I can’t review it today since I only just ordered it but I’m excited like crazy for it to arrive!

It can be found here at TheBodyShop.dk for 60 kr and here at TheBodyShop.co.uk for 4 GBP

4) The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter, 10 ml

Something new! Finally, you’re probably thinking.

As my second lip butter, I decided to go with the Chocomania one. It’s a bit of a risk since I think their Chocomania line has a too strong smell of chocolate – which says a lot coming from a chocolate lover – but for lip butter it might just be brilliant.

This is another one that will get a review as soon as I get to try it out.

Until then, if you’re interested, it can be found at TheBodyShop.dk for 60 kr and TheBodyShop.co.uk for 4 GBP

5) Tea Tree Oil, 10 ml

BodyShop_5

The price of this makes me want to cry (65 kr for 10 ml, that’s 7 British pounds) but I’ve heard such good things about it that I decided to take the chance. It says it has anti-bacterial properties and it’s an oil that you use on your blemishes or anything that’s about to come out on your skin. Looking very much forward to finding out how well it works.

Can be found here at TheBodyShop.dk for 65 kr and TheBodyShop.co.uk for 7 GBP (and it happens to be the first thing where the price is the same – for the rest of the items, the Danish site is SO much more expensive)

Those were all the things I’ve bought and I’m very much looking forward to receiving the rest. Body Shop has always been one of my favorite stores, partly because I love their smells, their ingredients, etc. but mainly because they’re against animal testing and affordable to a great extent.

Right now the Danish website has a promotion code where, if you spend at least 300 kr, you get 50 kr off. It only works on non-sale items, though. The code is 1211.

For good measure I have to say that I’m in no way receiving anything to promote The Body Shop, I just really, really love their products so you’ll get to hear a bunch more about them. Later I’ll be doing a giveaway with some of their products since I think everyone deserves to try them out.
