One of those days

This is just one of those days.

One of those days where you’re super tired because the kid refuses to sleep, screams and acts up for hours and hours on end – and shuts up the second dad steps into the room. One of those days where you’re cold no matter how much you turn up the heat or how many blankets you sit under. One of those days where you realize people only seem to be interested in reading posts about make-up and hauls and reviews, and nothing else.

I’m not saying I don’t like those kind of posts, I do, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to feel like I’m not allowed to write on my own blog unless it includes products of some sort. I always read people’s personal posts, even if I don’t have anything to comment to them, so I figured a single one from me wouldn’t hurt.

But oh well, I started this blog for me and that how I’ll keep it. January is almost over and hopefully the cold will disappear with it. I really miss summer and not having to dress like an Eskimo in order to get out of the house 😉

New things and a few changes

There’s a lot going on at home here right now; our son just got accepted into nursery so he’ll be starting in April. My boyfriend starts school again tomorrow after being on paternity leave which means that I have to sit alone with the kid and to make him sleep (for some reason he refuses to sleep on me or have me put him in bed right now so we have to survive a morning nap, an mid-morning nap and an afternoon-nap without dad) and I still have exams left and need to figure out a thesis for my BA paper.

So yeah, there’s a lot of changes going on here. However, not all changes are hard; I just ordered a buggy and I’m so excited! We have an Odder stroller but it’s way too heavy for me to pull out of the basement by myself (because they made it super steep to get up… brilliant) which means my boyfriend has to help out every time.

Now I can do it myself, easily, since it only weighs 5,7 kg and it can be folded and unfolded with one hand, which is really neat when you have a kid in the other. We gave 1600,- for it and it has the coolest cartoon print ever!

Etsy favs – Fox edition!

My fiance loves foxes and I happen to agree that they’re extremely cute and adorable. Our boy has a fox wallsticker in his room but I’d love to have some more fox related things in the apartment (and me).

As always, Etsy delivers – even my wallet doesn’t 😉

FoxEtsy1

Mr. Fox Traveler Mug/Glass Wrap, 56 kr / Sleeping Fox Puch, 84 kr / Fox Bracelet, 185 kr
Felt Fox Pillow, 213 kr / Organic Baby Quilt, 607 kr /City Animal Notebook, 34 kr

FoxEtsy2

Fox Organizer, 54 kr / Valentine’s Day Card, 25 kr / Personalized Fox Mug, 78 kr
Fox Clutch, 308 kr / Fox & Rabbit Mug, 157 kr / Fox Mint Tin, 23 kr

I’d love to have all these things but it’ll stay a dream for now. Some of them are really expensive and the import is crazy. However, if I really were to buy some of the things, I’d definitely go with the mug warmer, the fox organizer and of course the Valentine’s card – just because I know my boyfriend would love it!

What do you think about these things? Which one would you most like to have?

Product review – Tea Tree Oil

This time I’m reviewing the last product from my Body Shop haul and it’s the Tea Tree Oil.

DSC_0030Everyone’s raving about this like it’s the best thing since sliced bread and Nutella, so of course I had to give it a go.

Body Shop describes this product as, “Soothing with antibacterial properties against blemishes without drying out the skin”. You’re supposed to take a cotton wad or something similar and dab a little of this product directly on to a spot or a developing spot. And this should then make it dry out faster or not even break out!

It promises amazing things but does it deliver?

Now, I’m way past my teenage phase so my face is pretty clear, but I still get the occasional spot and would of course prefer to live without. I’ve used it on both spots and developing spots, and honestly haven’t noticed the biggest difference. It does make it go away a little faster, maybe, but nothing spectacular. And – for me, at least – it doesn’t make developing spots disappear at all.

The smell is an entire category for itself. It’s so horrid my eyes teared up when I first opened the bottle (after 15 minutes of fighting the lid, which is not only child proof but human proof) and after you put it on your face you can smell it for a good 10-15 minutes later.

For 65 kr you get a tiny bottle with 10 ml, which in my opinion is way too expensive for a product that is mediocre at best.

Pros:
– Makes spots go away a little faster
– It’s not tested on animals

Cons:
– Horrid smell
– Doesn’t really do much difference
– The lid is practically impossible to get off
– It’s ridiculously expensive

All in all, I’ll give this product 2/5 stars because it (seems to) help a tiny bit and isn’t tested on animals. I’ll use up the bottle but I won’t be buying it again. I’m very disappointed and it’s the first product from The Body Shop that I really don’t like.

If you’d still like to try it, you can find it here.
